A ZVISHAVANE sex worker is in police custody for allegedly strangling a man who had hired her but later declined to pay for her services because she was not “sweet”. Police sources told Sunday News that Nyasha Banda (28) flew into a rage when the now deceased, Siphathengani Nkiwane, reportedly told her that she was not “sweet” in bed and therefore would leave her lodgings without paying for her services.
She then took advantage of Nkiwane’s drunken state and strangled him before shoving him outside her rented room in Mandava Township. The body of Nkiwane was found by a passerby just outside Banda’s room.
“Investigations later revealed that he had been strangled by Banda who could not take lightly to Nkiwane’s sentiments that she was not sweet in bed and therefore, would not pay for the services she had rendered to him,” said a source close to the investigations.
Police spokesperson for Midlands Province Inspector Joel Goko yesterday confirmed the incident, which occurred on Tuesday night.
“We are treating the matter as murder and the suspect, Nyasha Banda, who is believed to be a sex worker, is being held by the police,” said Insp Goko.

He said the two, Banda and Nkiwane, hooked up at Falcon Night Club in Mandava on Tuesday night at about 10pm.
“The two went to Banda’s place of residence in Mandava after agreeing on terms of service but at around 12 midnight, Nkiwane was found by a passerby lying unconscious on the ground outside Banda’s rented room with blood oozing from the nose,” he said.
